Description

Annunciation Cathedral of the city of Pavlodar - the second Orthodox church in Pavlodar. It is a good sample of a combination of the classical style of church construction when using modern materials. The temple is on the bank of Irtysh, on Toraygyrov Street, 1.

Construction of Annunciation Cathedral in Pavlodar has been blessed by the Archbishop Almaty and Kazakhstan Alexy in 1990. The Pavlodar Council of People's Deputies has made the decision on allocation of Orthodox Church of the site of 1,1 hectares in the residential district No. 2. In 1993 construction has been begun — in the foundation of cathedral monolithic plates have been laid.

The Pavlodar architects in search of a basis for the project of the new cathedral have traveled over a set of the cities of Russia, have studied various types of temples. As a result, they have taken one of the churches of the Moscow Kremlin as a basis. The Pavlodar cathedral had to be more large-scale than the original church.

After laying of the base construction of cathedral has been stopped for four years. Only in 1998 with the assistance of the Akim of the Pavlodar region Zhakiyanov G. B. and the Akim of the city Chmykh N.I., it has renewed again.

Originally commissioning of the object has been planned to Rodezhstva Christoff's 2000 anniversary, then new term - by day of the Republic, by October 25, 1999, has been offered. On June 7, 1998, on a holiday of the Holy Trinity the prior of the Hristo-Rozhdestvensky temple abbot Josef (Eryomenko Iosif Borisovich) has made a holy-water prayer at cathedral under construction. Bells for the temple have been cast in Moscow on AZLK, a church chandelier, and church utensils - in Moscow region Sofrino.

On October 19, 1999, bells have been delivered to Pavlodar, their pull has been made on the same day. On October 22, 1999, the Archbishop Alexy has consecrated new cathedral. Next day there was an opening ceremony in which the Archbishop Astanaysky and the Almaty Alexy, the Akim of the Pavlodar region G.B. Zhakiyanov and the Akim of the city of Pavlodar N.I. Chmykh has participated.

The opening has been dated for Day of the Republic. Thus, Annunciation Cathedral became the second temple in Pavlodar. Till this time the Christmas temple remained the only temple of the city and area.

Annunciation Cathedral is a graceful example of the "Novomoskovsk" style. Arches and the arches of the temple are constructed of a red brick. On the temple — seven domes symbolizing seven sacraments and seven ecumenical councils. Three more domes — a symbol of the Holy Trinity are located on a belfry. Kupola of the cathedral is sheathed by the metal of golden color covered with nitride of the titan.

The roof of the temple has been made in the city of Novosibirsk on the special technology of the galvanized iron covered with a polymeric film. The main cross over cathedral towers on 51 meters from the earth. In total in the temple of 9 bells (on a number of angelic hosts). The biggest bell weighs 1024 kg, the smallest — 4 kg. The cathedral is surrounded by the park which has been put in honor of the third millennium. In the park, there is also a chapel of a name of Saint Nikolay.
