Description
Duzen Mausoleum is an architectural monument of XIX century. It is situated in Central Kazakhstan, on the territory of Ulytau municipality of Karaganda region.
Laterally the mausoleum is a rectangle with a 10-hedral drum on it covered with a cupola. The internal diameter of the cupola is 5 m. 4 pillars with the height of 10 m support semi-arcs ornamented by small figured tiles. The external area of the fundament is 8.5х10.2 m, the internal one is 5.4х5.4 m. The doorway of the main front face is 1.7х0.77 m whereas 3 other front faces are rhomb-shaped.
The second floor has a drum gallery and places for prayers in the corners. There is a winding stairs on the left side leading to the gallery. The third floor has prayers room.
The mausoleum was built in 1863-1866 by people's master Seraly Elamanuly above the grave of Duzen Sandybaiuly.
Duzen Mausoleum was mistakenly named as Karamola, Zhuzden, Dzen or Dzhuzden mausoleum in some sources.
The architectural elements of the mausoleum are similar with Alash-Khan Mausoleum.
