Dombauyl mausoleum is located in Ulytau district, in 58 kilometers to the northeast of the city of Zhezkazgan. Monument history and architecture of Republican value.

The author, the builder, and history of creation aren't known. The first written mention of the mausoleum Dombaul meets at Ch.Ch. Valikhanov in the article "About Kyrgyz-kaysak Graves (Piers) and Antiquities in General".

In 1946 the Central Kazakhstan archaeological expedition of AN of the Kazakh SSR (head A.H. Margulan) together with representatives of Management for architecture at Council of ministers of the Kazakh SSR of architects M.B. Levinson and G.G. Gerasimov, surveyed the mausoleum. In 1973 the expedition of the Ministry of Culture of the Kazakh SSR has made on the mausoleum measurements, photo fixing and a topographical survey (M.A. Mamanbayev, M.K. Sembin, M.S. Nurkabayev).

The mausoleum is built of stone plates on clay solution. Plan of the internal room of a trapezoid form. The entrance is focused to the east. The general height of the cone-shaped building is 6 meters. The thickness of walls reaches 2,5 meters. The sizes in the plan for external perimeter – 8,5 x 7,5 meters. One of the largest constructions of a stone in Kazakhstan constructed during the pre-Islamic period, the VIII-IX century of the century.

It is constructed of stone plates on clay solution, represents a high cone-shaped construction on the basis close to a square. Plan of the internal room of a trapezoid form. The entrance aperture is raised from earth level on 2 m to which conduct five high steps (37 cm). In 1974 restoration works have been performed: corners of the building and an entrance aperture are restored.

It is floored by stone tiles, the blind area is made. The chief architect of the project of restoration - M.A. Mamanbayev. Scientists carry the mausoleum Dombauyl to the pre-Islamic period (the VIII-IX century of the century). Stone gravestone constructions like Dombauyl at Kazakhs were called "uytas", "dyn". Are widespread in the Central Kazakhstan, especially in the valley of the river Torgay.
